Mark Forums Read Troubleshooting: 3 Times to Happen Once?

Okay --- how come I got to "Mark Forums Read" three times for it to happen once? Been going on two (three?) days now.

I'm experiencing this with many vB 3.5.4 forums. It only works for me if you go into a forum and then click back to its category after all of the posts have been read.
