Hi, I am working on a problem where I need to estimate the temperature at which a copper pipe will burst. For this problem, it says the pipe will burst at 3000 psi.
Post of yours I found (from 2004, very long time ago):
"Residential plumbing? K, L, or M? "L" is around 1/16 wall --- means you divide pipe dia. by 8, then multiply by Cu tensile strength (~25k) --- rupture ocurs at around 3000 --- that's -2 C."
