Most Hard-Driving Music?

What's the most hard-driving music ever recorded? Some might go for the MC5 and their Kick Out The Jams but either of these two gets my vote. I'd have to flip a coin.

This album got me into death metal. I suspect OP had something else in mind. I’m not familiar with the genre of music in the OP. I’m not a musician but I think the following songs are an intersection between death metal and the genre in the OP.

I do not know what "hard driving" is supposed to mean, but I am tring a listen to the link in post #6, and it is mostly noisy. Trying a forward into it,... still mostly noise.

I think it is probably fairly subjective, but they mean "intense."

Usually: fast, aggressive, chaotic, or some combination of the above.

Thanks. I can understand. The one difference is about if what I hear is either chaotic or noisy; those are when I can no longer perceive as music.

From "classical" music, the first thing that comes to my mind is Hekla by the Icelandic composer Jón Leifs, which is intended to depict an eruption of the volcano with that name.

I'd say that drive is a propulsive rhythmic feel that evokes forward motion, as opposed to groove or swing or rock and roll that invokes back and forth motion as in dance. Here's something that sounds like galloping over plains at breakneck speed, perhaps pursued by a Parthian whose skill with bow will put paid to you should you falter.



They are from Kazakhstan, where some people still do such things. Encore!

European classical music is strongly inclined toward drive though rubato interferes with that. Eine Kleine Nachtmusic has its stretches of strong drive. I like this low-rubato movement thanks to George Solti. It's like the gods getting ready for war with the unstoppability of a loaded cement mixer truck. Better not get in the way.

The one difference is about if what I hear is either chaotic or noisy; those are when I can no longer perceive as music.

"Chaotic" means different things to different writers, from what I can tell. For some it refers to a noisy sound, for others to frenetic activity. To me it signals anything abrupt or random. "Noisy" usually means distortion including terrible production, which can sometimes bring out melody but just as easy produce a white noise "screen" over whatever is barely discernible in the background.

As to drive, I like this low-rubato movement thanks to George Solti. It's like the gods getting ready for war with the unstoppability of a loaded cement mixer truck. Better not get in the way.

Here is something that's very raw but doesn't drive. It rocks back and forth. I'm recommending mostly be cause she compares herself to a cement mixer truck! Such a coincidence should not pass unremarked upon.

I know what you mean. I understand the words but the deeper meaning is kinda lost on me. Then again it's the last track on the album so maybe there's some context we're missing out on.
