SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on implementing a hex 7-segment display using NAND gates in Multisim. The user aims to light up the numbers 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, while numbers 1 and 7 are considered "don't care" conditions. They have created a truth table and Karnaugh map but are struggling with the practical implementation in Multisim. Guidance is sought for sample circuits or tutorials to assist in the project.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of digital logic design, specifically NAND gate functionality
  • Familiarity with creating truth tables and Karnaugh maps
  • Basic knowledge of Multisim software for circuit simulation
  • Experience with 7-segment display configurations and wiring
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to implement logic circuits using NAND gates in Multisim
  • Study examples of hex 7-segment display circuits using digital logic
  • Learn about optimizing Karnaugh maps for logic circuit design
  • Explore tutorials on Multisim for beginners focusing on circuit assembly
USEFUL FOR

Students and hobbyists working on digital electronics projects, particularly those focused on 7-segment displays and logic gate implementations in simulation software like Multisim.

I was tasked to do an assignment regarding a hex 7 segment display using NAND gates
I am only required to light up number 0,2,3,4,5,6, . 1 & 7 falls under the don't care condition.
I have written the truth table & k-map. And i do not know how to start with my multisim :( i have tried to play around with the component but did not found out a solution to it. Does anyone have a sample which i can refer to or any guides for me to follow ! it would be greatly appreiciated :D:D thanks in advance.

Is your problem that you don't know how to implement the logic with NAND gates or that you don't know how to implement your circuit in multisim?
