SUMMARY

The discussion centers on a first-year A-level student torn between pursuing physics and engineering, particularly mechatronics and design engineering. The student expresses a strong passion for physics, having studied quantum mechanics and relativity, but is also drawn to innovation and design. A key recommendation is to explore job advertisements for graduates and seek work experience in the preferred field during the summer to gain clarity on career choices.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of A-level physics concepts
  • Familiarity with engineering disciplines, particularly mechatronics and design engineering
  • Knowledge of job market trends for graduates in STEM fields
  • Experience in seeking and applying for work experience opportunities
NEXT STEPS
  • Research job advertisements for physics and engineering graduates
  • Explore work experience opportunities in mechatronics and design engineering
  • Investigate the curriculum and career paths associated with A-level physics
  • Learn about the skills and tools used in design engineering
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for A-level students contemplating their career paths, particularly those interested in physics and engineering, as well as educators advising students on career decisions in STEM fields.

I'm just in need of serious helps from others.
I'm doing my first year of A level but still don't know what career fits me. I love physics, or die for it to the point I learned mostly the basics understanding of quantum, relativity and the chapters of O and A levels 4 years ago from now but one cannot play a game without a goal. But I've always wanted to innovate and mechatronic interested me the most but I also like studying design and now I see design engineer. I'm puzzled please help me elders

I suggest you look at job adverts aimed at graduates. If you find something that looks interesting try and get work experience in that area this summer.
