As a last thread of he Norway massacre, I publish a link to our police's official list of released names.
At present, 41 names have been released, with daily updates when it has been ensured that the relatives have been informed that the identification has been made.

Our youngest victim is little Sharidyn, called Sissi, who became 14 years old two days before she excitedly left on what was to be a weeklong holiday on her own, leaving behind her parents and her two younger sisters.
Rest in peace, Sissi, and all you others whose lives were deprived from you.

I just can't understand how someone could do such a thing.

So sad, so tragic, and so unnecessary.

The mere fact of the event was shocking and sad enough from the standpoint of them being anonymous victims; seeing the pictures and names makes me feel almost as if I'd actually known them.
Given that you have a total population of approximately 4.7 million people, the impact of this terrorist act is more or less equal, per capita, to the 9/11 impact upon the USA. The psychological trauma is actually far greater, because violence is not an everyday aspect of your society as it is here in North America. (Hey... I'm Canadian, but we have our share of drive-bys and home invasions. There's barely a night goes by on the local Calgary news without mention of a shooting or a stabbing. We expect better of Bifrost's gatekeepers.)
Arildno, I'm going to put forth a statement directed toward the friends and families of the victims. If you can provide a translation and find a way to pass it on (even just by tossing a note in amongst the millions of other tributes), I would muchly appreciate it. As follows:

I can't pray for you, because I'm an Atheist.
I can't tell you to feel better, because I'm not a psychologist.
All that I can do is convey to you my deepest sympathy and my hope that you can find comfort within your community. The world mourns with you.

I will do so, Danger.

For all of you:

We also received the heartening message today that all of the 15 individuals whose condition has been termed "critical" since last Friday are now judged as "stable and expected to survive".

Well, there's one ray of sunshine stabbing through the clouds. It's still a dark and dingy day, but every bit of good news can nibble away a bit more of the occlusion. Maybe, given enough time, we can get to "partly cloudy". The darkness never goes away, but time has a way of eventually fading its pigment.

Looking at the pictures is so sad. I can only imagine what the parents are going through.

The problem with that, Borg, is that we can't. (Unless you've been there, in which case I apologize and urge you to ignore the rest of this.)
Despite being one of the nastiest people on the planet, I like to think that I have some modicum of empathy. Something like 80% of the people that I've ever cared about in any way are dead. That includes relatives and friends. I felt nothing. A couple, who I consider friends, lost a daughter a couple of years back. I see one of them every couple of months, and his wife maybe every couple of years. No matter how much fun they are having, or how cheerful they appear, there is something in their eyes that will never go away.
There are two things that I can say for sure about this:
1) Losing a child is totally off of the charts compared to any other loss.
2) I use the word 'couple' far too often.3) I don't think that I can ever again use the term "Norweed", no matter how much amusement it has afforded me in the past.[/size]

No, I haven't been through it. I don't even have children which is why I know that I can't comprehend their losses. All I know is that in each face I saw a life that was cut short for no reason.

Borg, i apologize if my previous post seemed antagonistic; it was not intended to be such. I also do not have children, due to the common sense of my chosen female companions.
I meant only to illustrate that one cannot, despite an active and scientific imagination, know what it feels like to lose a child.
I can think of only one analogy right now, and I suggest that viewer discretion is advised due to language content.
We both could watch someone cracking walnuts with a hammer all day long. That is us observing this event.
If our nuts were under the hammer, that invokes a whole new set of senses and sensibilities, which puts us in the parental viewpoint.

How are they going to handle the memorial? They have two sites from the same attack.
