Penn State: General Relativity Centennial Stream Jun 7-12

Click For Summary
The Penn State event from June 7-12, 2015, focuses on the centennial of General Relativity and Gravitation, featuring live-streamed plenary sessions. The first plenary session starts at 9 am EDT, with opening remarks at 8:40 am. Attendees are encouraged to check the updated schedule and streaming links on the event's website. An overflow room will also stream the sessions, likely providing internet access. Lectures will be recorded for later viewing, ensuring that those unable to attend can still access the content.

This week (Jun 7-12, 2015) at Penn State:

General Relativity and Gravitation: A Centennial Perspective
http://event.gravity.psu.edu/index.shtml

There will be a live stream of the plenary sessions.
For the updated schedule and link to the streams, consult
http://event.gravity.psu.edu/complete_program-final.html
(I'm not sure if the streams will be archived.)

The first plenary is Monday 9am EDT.
However, you might want to tune in for the opening remarks at 8:40am...
in case a link materializes for it.
Since there is a stream into an overflow room,
I would think that there would be an internet-accessible link to that stream.

(On an iPhone/iPad, you'll need something from the App Store.

In this video I can see a person walking around lines of curvature on a sphere with an arrow strapped to his waist. His task is to keep the arrow pointed in the same direction How does he do this ? Does he use a reference point like the stars? (that only move very slowly) If that is how he keeps the arrow pointing in the same direction, is that equivalent to saying that he orients the arrow wrt the 3d space that the sphere is embedded in? So ,although one refers to intrinsic curvature...
