PF App Auto Refresh: Options & Notifications Explained

The PF app currently lacks a reliable option for background refresh and notifications in the notification center. Users must manually open the app to refresh forums, which is inconvenient. While leaving the app open allows for a manual refresh by pulling down, this feature is not functioning as intended. There is confusion about whether a background refresh option exists, but many users report it does not work effectively. Is there no option for background refresh and any way of showing PF notifications in notification centre?
I have to open the app every time to refresh a forum. If it is there then could you please direct me how to activate it?

I don't think there is an option. You can leave it open in the background and then just thumb down to refresh.
 
Other apps have that option, yours does too but it just doesn't work.
