Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around resources and references related to pollen morphology and pollination. Participants express interest in both the overarching processes involved in pollination and the specific morphological characteristics of pollen grains that may influence these processes.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Resource sharing

Main Points Raised

  • One participant seeks recommendations for resources on pollination and pollen morphology, emphasizing a desire for both broad and detailed information.
  • Another participant suggests using PubMed for finding relevant publications.
  • A request is made for online databases of botany that include images.
  • Several references to academic papers and resources are provided, including studies on pollen morphology and its correlation with pollination biology.
  • Links to various online databases related to botany are shared, which may contain useful visual resources.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the availability of resources online, but there is no consensus on specific databases or the best resources for the requested information.

Contextual Notes

Some references provided may depend on specific definitions or contexts within the field of botany and palynology, and the effectiveness of the suggested resources may vary based on individual needs.

Hi there,

I was wondering if somebody knows some nice web page/ book /e book/ resource/ about Pollination and Pollen morphology. I am interested in the big picture of the process, but also paying attention to the different morphologies of pollen grains and its influence on the process.

Thanx.

Thanx for the link monique.

Do you know also some on-line database of botany (with pictures)?

Happy New Year.

There are many good references on the net. Just do a http://www.interq.or.jp/japan/se-inoue/e_search.htm using keywords: "pollen morphology", pollination, palynology
