Possible to research at another school?

i've been looking at biology research for undergrads at the school i go to - and i don't find the topics compelling. is it possible to do undergrad research at another school than the one in which you take classes? i want to get a taste of research while i am an undergrad so that i have an inkling of what it's like for a grad student - but i don't want to change schools just to do research on a topic that interests me. any ideas? thanks :)

ultimately, if the other professor is willing to take you, then you can do research under the,.

but there are probably plenty of logistical problems.
ie:
how you are insured work at the other school? what happens when something goes wrong?
can you get research credit somewhere else? etc.
