Printing multicolor characters?

Hey guys,

Is it possible to print characters of different colors to the command line in Linux? I would like to print a word, for example, with one letter a different color. Is this possible? From what I've been able to gather on Google, it is possible to change to font color of all characters. I have not found anything on individual characters.

Yes - you just send the terminal code before each character.
