Sorry to be asking but can anyone tell me how I subscribe to threads so that they appear on my user control panel. I get the emails fine but the subscribed threads panel on my CP is always empty.

Sometimes I just want to follow the progress of threads without actually posting a reply and I'm having to rember the titles at the moment.

Thanks from a grateful newby

There is an option in the thread tools menu on the first post of a thread that allows you to subscribe without posting. The subscription options can be altered in the user CP > edit options page.

I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
