It's a new one to me, but I can instantly hear why you like it. Very laid back.

Ah, well that's the classic! Yeah I guess that must've been the hype in it's day! Are all their tracks like that? instrumental? Funny though, I understand why you like the first one better. Not to detract from this one., they're both good. It's like they're a product of their time but I can hear elements of modern electronic in them. Like a kind of time Ouroboros-effect. In which other thread did I discuss art and come to the conclusion (at least someone did) that it was one big big kleptocracy? The AI one I think....

Wow. Did this thread just become the headline?! Must be a slow period on here! :woot:

Then I want to share something from the same age:

Well, same age....? I swear this song can be played in 3 chords (and I suspect it's about some friends doing LSD in a hotel room close to the Danube), but what do I know....

I'm 59 so older, Steve Harley had a cool voice.

Any kid in the UK who ever watched cricket will instantly know this cowbell intro.
I did not find out it was Booker T till a few years ago. EDIT: It would help if I put the link so people would know what I am talking about!

That explains your "wow" emoticon. I'm the Benjamin of the group here (though I'm older than my profile pic might suggest, it was just the only one I could find and I was tired of the mad professor look :woot: ).

I actually grew up in the eighties. Talk about an ugly decade!

Green Onions was produced during June 1962 and released in July. The B-side of the 45 record was "Behave Yourself"

Interview with a band member (ostensibly Booker T Jones), who indicates Green Onions was on the B-side.

BOOKER T. & THE MG'S : The Strand 1991

(featuring Booker T Jones, Steve Cropper, Donald "Duck" Dunn (who passed away May 13, 2012), Anton Fig). First tune is Green Onions, extended play and more improvisation.

Booker T Jones is still performing. He and his band are scheduled to perfrom in London 7 February and 17, 18 April, 2026. He'll 82 years old next year.

In 1980 I was living in a house with a couple roommates. One of the guys had a Betamax player, and two tapes. One of which was The Blues Brothers. We must have watched that tape a hundred times. Anyhow, that was my introduction to Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn.

Great movie! Yes, I didn't know his history, either, or that he wrote so very many songs, so many popularized by others, or that he was part of the Stax backup studio band for other artist's recordings. Remember him with Pop Staples and Albert King on an album they made together.

Memphis, Tennessee really had it going. Believe he played backup on this Stax recording too.
