SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on reading Hamiltonian (.HSX) files generated from DFT calculations using SIESTA. Users are seeking methods to access and interpret these files, with a suggestion of a free viewer available at Helpware. The conversation highlights the need for specific tools or software to effectively read .HSX files, as standard methods may not suffice.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Density Functional Theory (DFT)
  • Familiarity with SIESTA software for quantum simulations
  • Basic knowledge of file formats and extensions
  • Experience with file viewing tools and software
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to use the Helpware H2 Viewer for .HSX files
  • Explore SIESTA documentation for file output specifications
  • Investigate alternative software for visualizing Hamiltonian files
  • Learn about file conversion techniques for .HSX files
USEFUL FOR

Researchers and practitioners in computational physics, materials science, and quantum chemistry who are working with SIESTA and need to analyze Hamiltonian files.

Hi all,

I am working on DFT calculations using SIESTA. I have obtained the Hamiltonian file (.HSX) from the calculations. But, I cannot read the file it. How do I read the .HSX file .
