"Unfortunately your recent report was rejected:" these are NOT literary submissions, they are FYIs/PSAs/other; no fortune good, bad, or other to be attached.

We always value reports from our members, but sometimes after a Mentor discussion, we reject a report and do not do anything with the reported post.

It is unfortunate that the forum software automatically generates that “unfortunately” note… but it does.

On a more serious note...
If in doubt, it is better to report than not to report. A report that turns out to require no action is cleared with one mouse click in the moderation UI, no big deal. But if something is not reported then we may not notice it until it has festered, and then the cleanup will be a lot more work.

Maybe change the canned message.
That's indeed a bit unfortunate wording.

Though for the rare cases I report something (well, sometimes I just report myself o0)) I usually get some personal comment too, with a few words of explanation. So maybe you were just out of luck fortune.
But I understand that such answer is a luxury.
