SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the compatibility of a 1.3GB Gigamo magneto-optical (MO) floppy disk with a 1.4-inch floppy drive. Users confirm that standard 1.4-inch floppy drives cannot read 1.3GB Gigamo disks due to differences in technology and format. The 1.3GB Gigamo disks require specific magneto-optical drives designed for that format. Participants suggest researching compatible drives to utilize the 1.3GB Gigamo disks effectively.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of magneto-optical technology
  • Familiarity with disk drive compatibility
  • Knowledge of data storage formats
  • Experience with hardware specifications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research compatible drives for 1.3GB Gigamo disks
  • Explore magneto-optical drive specifications
  • Learn about the differences between MO and standard floppy disks
  • Investigate data recovery options for magneto-optical media
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for hardware enthusiasts, data recovery specialists, and anyone looking to utilize or understand magneto-optical storage solutions.

I have one but don't know what drive to run it ?

Mine is 640 MB MO floppy type I mistakenly bought home long ago without having known if a single 1.4' floppy drive could handle it.

Thanks for any hint
