The discussion highlights a common issue faced when adding media files on mobile devices, specifically the risk of losing progress if the page reloads before saving. Users suggest that while saving videos in smaller batches may work on desktop, it's more efficient to upload all videos at once for lecture courses. A proposal is made to implement an automatic draft saving feature for the media gallery, similar to the existing system for thread replies. This feature would save progress at intervals, allowing users to recover their uploads if interrupted. The conversation concludes with a suggestion to propose this feature to the developers for consideration.

When I add media files, I mostly do it through phone. Now, a problem that I face is, if somehow, by chance, the page reloads before I save the media files, then whatever progress I had made, is lost.

Somebody may advise me to add few videos and save them before moving on to the next set. That may be easier on desktop. However, I generally add lecture courses. So, it becomes easier to add all the videos and rename them serially at one go.

There is a system of automatic draft saving while writing a reply to a thread. Can that feature be implemented to media gallery as well? For example, when the user is adding videos, the system can save the draft automatically at specified intervals. If the page reloads, or connection is lost, the draft is saved for him. When he returns later, the draft may be shown to him, and he may be asked whether to keep the draft, or to delete it.

This will make it easier to upload videos to the gallery.

The best I can do is suggest it to the developer. I'll see if it sticks.

Hello everyone, I recently revisited Physics Forums after a long hiatus (about 4-5 years) and started catching up on the recent discussions. What immediately struck me—and what inspired this thread—is seeing so many of the exact same user names in the "Latest Posts" section who were just as active when I was last here! To the dedicated, long-term, and continuously active members of this community: What keeps you coming back and contributing regularly after all this time? Is it the joy...
