Hi everyone!
I finally decided to go down the path of getting my engineering degree. I never had physics at school so I have to do a uni ready program and catch up on most of the course in my own time. Ive been quietly reading here for a while and it's actually been very interesting to start looking at physics (what did I miss out on at school!); however now I'm starting to get stuck every now and again and need a little bit of help here and there. My latest problems: Work, Energy and momentum and Statics & dynamics.

Excellent decision!

How could that happen?

It wasn't a requirement. I went to school in Germany for 13 years which only required a subject for natural sciences (combining chemistry, physics and electrical systems in one). It mostly consisted of doing practical experiments and no theory at all. It seemed fun at the time, but I only realise now what I was missing out on!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
