Does anyone know how to switch back to yahoo mail classic?
I tired disabling JavaScript and then reopening yahoo mail but it wouldn't let me go
back to classic. Opera is my browser and I am using xp if that is relevant.

Before logging-in to see what is at the logged-in end, would you tell us what that page is, and how you found it? I am interested but I do not want to log in without knowing what is on the other side. I too have one account which I may want to switch back in Yahoo Mail version. Yahoo has made switching back to Classic Mail apparently impossible, except for something which you may have found (the above quoted login page, maybe?).

It's just the direct link I get on the page that asks me to upgrade my Yahoo! Mail (actually it's http://mrd.mail.yahoo.com/switchclassic but it just redirects)

They are making it impossible to switch back because they will eventually phase it out:

Can I switch to the previous design of Yahoo! Mail?

Resolution

Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch to the previous design of Yahoo! Mail. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our products, and the design you see today is our cleanest, most intuitive version to date.

What if I don’t want to upgrade to the newest version of Yahoo! Mail?

Older versions of Yahoo! Mail will only be available for a limited amount of time, so eventually, you will need to upgrade. Once you have upgraded to the new Yahoo! Mail, it is not possible to switch back.
