Is there a way to synthesize glucose, or any other high energy sugars, from simpler compounds? What are the compounds and how can they be converted into glucose? Can you describe the reactions that take place to form glucose?

This is what I mean, as an example:
Say we have methane, or CH4. Can we synthesize this from simpler compounds? Yes. What are the compounds? CO2 and 4H2. How can we convert these compounds into methane? Heat the compounds on a nickel, alumina, or ruthenium catalyst. Reaction: Sabatier reaction.
