SUMMARY

The discussion clarifies the relationship between the Celsius and Kelvin temperature scales, emphasizing that the conversion formula is C = K - 273. Participants confirm that a change of 1 degree Celsius is equivalent to a change of 1 Kelvin. The zero point for Celsius is the freezing point of water (0°C), while the zero point for Kelvin is absolute zero (0 K), where all atomic motion ceases. Additionally, the average human body temperature is noted as 37°C or 310 K.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of temperature scales (Celsius and Kelvin)
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical conversions
  • Familiarity with the concept of absolute zero
  • Awareness of the freezing point of water
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the concept of absolute zero in thermodynamics
  • Learn about temperature conversion formulas in detail
  • Explore the implications of temperature scales in scientific experiments
  • Investigate the historical development of temperature measurement systems
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and anyone interested in thermodynamics or scientific measurements will benefit from this discussion, particularly those looking to understand temperature conversions and the significance of different temperature scales.

Help on celsius napster!

I was wondering how do degress on the celsius scale compare to those on the Kelvin Scale?

Thanx.

Answer

You can convert from any type of temp. to other with this equation ...

C/100 = (F-32)/180 = (K-273)/100

C is the celsius, K is the Absolute, F is the Feh. Temp.

C/100 = (F-32)/180 = (K-273)/100

Multiply the first and last expressions by 100 to get:

C=K-273

The only difference between C and K is the zero point.

Know That ...

I know, but i wanted to give the general way

Thanx

Oh, can you guys also state the comparisson in a sentence not just the formula.

Read my last post again, specifically the last sentence.

thanx

Are you sure? Then is there a specific point for say writing 1c=1k if k is same thing as C anyways.

And one other thing just to make sure. What's the definition of the term "absolute zero?".

wait

oh 1 thing, wats the zero point for the Kelvin and celsius scale?

When I say that Kelvin and Celiuse are identical except for the zero point I mean a 1 degree C CHANGE = 1 degree K CHANGE

The zero point of Celuis is the freezing point of water. The Zero point of Kelvin is Absolute Zero.

Absolute Zero is theoretical point at which all atomic motion ceases.

ohh

So to convert C into K you simply add 273.

Say the melting point of water is 0c so to covert it to K you add 273 ,so it will be 273K right?

BTW what's the avg. human body temp.? 30c?

heh

Humans Body Temperature Is 37 C, Or 310 K,

LOL ! Cool Question, I'm wondering how old are you :P
