Universal Expansion: Is All Matter Expanding?

Click For Summary
The discussion centers on the concept of universal expansion, questioning whether all matter is expanding alongside space. Some physicists argue that space itself is expanding, causing distant galaxies to move away from us, while others suggest that gravity prevents local bodies from experiencing this expansion. The conversation touches on the implications of expansion on Earth's historical gravity and the flight capabilities of ancient dinosaurs. Additionally, there is debate over the causes of redshift, with some proposing that it could be influenced by an expanding gravitational field, while others assert that it is solely due to the motion of galaxies. Ultimately, the consensus leans towards the established understanding that the universe is expanding, with redshift being a result of this phenomenon.

I'm not assuming or asserting anything. I'm just asking questions. If you don't have the answers, insulting won't make you smarter.
No insult intended. You are assuming universal expansion is - universal. It is not. It only applies when other forces [e.g., gravity] are too weak to resist.
