Questions on absorption coolers
Hi all,

I'm doing some research on vapour absorption cycle machines, mainly water ammonia refrigerators.
I've got a few questions.

1. What is the role of the water absorber? ie why do we need the water?
2. In the absorber we have a water ammonia solution. Is the ammonia a gas in the solution (like C02 in coca cola) or liquid, like mixing bourbon and coke (bad example I know)
3. There is always a mention of heat being released in absorption. Is that because the ammonia is becoming a liquid in the water-ammonia solution? is the absorption process condenses the hot gaseous ammonia?

Any help would be fantastic
