    Very URGENT!!!Relativity problem(True or False)??

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
YOu have a meter stick located at rest along y axis. Another person moving along x axis
will measure the length of meter stick to be less than 1 meter.

    2. Relevant equations
    lorentz contraction

    3. The attempt at a solution
I think it's true..but my friend said it's false...Is it true or false????

Re: Very URGENT!!!Relativity problem(True or False)??

I believe an object only experiences contraction in the direction of motion. The y-axis will not contract if the observer is moving in the x-direction.

    False ; )
