Hi every body ,anyone can give me any idea about my Question !
To become an astronaut, candidates typically need a strong background in science or engineering, with many holding advanced degrees such as PhDs. While the majority of astronauts are former military pilots, NASA also selects mission specialists from civilian backgrounds. American citizenship is a requirement for NASA astronaut candidates, although other space agencies like ESA may accept candidates from various nationalities. Aspiring astronauts should review the official NASA requirements at NASA Jobs.
PREREQUISITESAspiring astronauts, students in STEM fields, and individuals interested in space exploration and career opportunities within NASA and other space agencies.
Yes it is very selective, but the military is NOT the main place. 99% of the pilots are from the military, but the mission specialists are comprised of a lot of civilians.z-component said:I believe most astronauts are taken from the military (specifically as former test pilots). The astronaut program is VERY selective.
