Ways to reduce swollen lymph nodes in the neck

I new someone that had 40 lymph nodes out of there neck.

And there neck is swollen and thicker now.

So the doctor told them to keep rubbing there neck to bring it down.

It is working but is there anything else to do to help the swoleness go down?
