What is feedback? what is the advantages of it?

Feedback typically is data that is sent back to a controller (such as a PID) to help improve the output signal for control of a device.

The advantage is you have better control over your device. For example, if I'm using a PID to control a motor's speed, the feedback signal can be used to improve the output speed signal sent to the motor.
