SUMMARY

Magnetism is a component of the electromagnetic force that arises from the motion of charged particles, specifically influenced by their velocity. It is distinct from electric force, which is solely dependent on the position of the particles. The discussion also raises the question of whether a stationary magnetic field can influence another stationary electric field, indicating the complex interplay between these two fundamental forces.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electromagnetic force principles
  • Familiarity with charged particle dynamics
  • Knowledge of electric and magnetic field interactions
  • Basic physics concepts related to velocity and position
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the relationship between electric and magnetic fields in Maxwell's equations
  • Explore the effects of moving charges on magnetic field generation
  • Study the principles of electromagnetic induction
  • Investigate the implications of stationary magnetic fields on electric fields
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, educators in electromagnetism, and anyone interested in the fundamental interactions between electric and magnetic fields.

What is magnetism exactly? I understand it is a portion of the electromagnetic force of a moving charge directed to where it used to be.

It's the part of the electromagnetic force that depends on the particle's velocity. (whereas the electric force depends only on the particle's position)

Thanks a lot dude. Anyway, Does the presense of a stationary magnetic field affect another stationary electric field?
