  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about the mode of transportation between Paris and London, questioning whether it involves a tunnel or a bridge.
  • Another participant confirms that the train uses the Channel Tunnel, also known as the "Chunnel."
  • A link is provided referencing a hypothetical transatlantic tunnel from the USA to the UK, which is not directly related to the original question.
  • There is a humorous remark about the idea of a bridge connecting the UK to Europe, which is met with a correction that it is not a bridge.
  • Further clarification is provided about the Channel Tunnel, including its common names and a link to additional information.
  • A participant humorously comments on the term "Chunnel," suggesting it sounds like a beer bong, indicating a playful tone in the discussion.
  • Another participant introduces the "Evil Kinevil ramp," describing it as a ramp that allows trains to launch into the air, although this claim appears to be speculative and not grounded in reality.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree that the train service uses the Channel Tunnel, but there is no consensus on the validity or existence of the "Evil Kinevil ramp," which remains a humorous and speculative addition to the discussion.

Contextual Notes

Hey people,

A little question. I know France has trains running from Paris to London England. I was wondering if anyone knew if that train uses some type of underground tunnel or if it uses a bridge and what the name of it is?

I've tried looking for it but its a difficult subject to search, Anyway, thanks.

Yes it's call the Chunnel

Isn't that some kind of beer bong? I never heard it called the chunnel.

There's also the Evil Kinevil ramp

Located on a 35 degree slope facing the English Channel, situated three quarters of a mile above sea level, trains achieve speeds of 220 miles per hour before launching off the ramp and remaining airborne for upwards of five minutes before landing safely on the French side of the channel
