Country? New Mexico? I'm afraid you're getting something wrong there mate. New Mexico is a state of the USA whereas Mexico is another country in North America.

Most people in the US think that New Mexico is another country. It drives the people in New Mexico nuts when some foolish government employee refuses to help them saying that New Mexico is another country. Their members of Congress do a lot of talking to various ignorant Federal employees.

No its true, although I don't think to that extent, but yeah, I've heard some bad stories about things involving this misconception.

That's not as bad as living in a state they don't even think exists. It's WEST Virginia, not Virginia. I keep getting cards from relatives addressed to the wrong state! I should start addressing their cards to Jimmy's state...The People's Republic of Northern South Jersey. :-p (I swear, when I went to school in NJ, they still taught geography, and WV was on those maps.)

Canada, and I'm pretty sure we're not "with the USA" or anyone else, for that matter. ;)

Holland = Netherlands, I knew that, thanks.
Gone members: Should I purge the list to those who've posted in this thread?
Canada, the US and the rest of northern America: According to cristo in the other thread:

Cristo: Also, I don't see why you split up Europe and then grouped together the USA and Canada!

That's why it's the only state that feels the need to include "USA" on its automobile license plates: "New Mexico USA."

Oh, and I'm also in the USA, in a state that actually wasn't part of the USA for a few years. A few people here still think it should never have re-joined...

The editing option is only available for 24 hours after the initial post. Only mentors and admins can edit posts after that.

I don't know...there seems to be a rash of them lately. Could it be related to the recent software upgrade  ...maybe the "search threads" utility has been altered?

  • #53
Its most likely the similar threads feature we have at the bottom of the page.

  • #54
Only new people do that.
Stumble upon (most likely) + Similar threads (why not old users?_)

Where your from, is not time related, so should not matter. I think it is good that more people speak up and let everyone know more about who we all are.
I would like to see more personal information about people and what their backgrounds are composed of.

When I see nothing about an individual, I tend to think of them as very young and inexperienced in life, until I find a few things in their post to say otherwise.

Just my thoughts:smile:
