SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the ADS/CFT correspondence and the quest for Witten's "standard dictionary," which facilitates the transition between conformal field theories (CFT) and theories of gravity. The primary reference for this topic is Maldacena's seminal paper, available at arXiv:hep-th/9905111. Additional resources that provide easier readability include arXiv:gr-qc/0602037, arXiv:0903.3246, and arXiv:0909.0518. It is noted that the complete ADS dictionary remains unknown at this time.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of ADS/CFT correspondence
  • Familiarity with conformal field theories (CFT)
  • Knowledge of gravitational theories
  • Experience with academic papers in theoretical physics
NEXT STEPS USEFUL FOR

The discussion is beneficial for theoretical physicists, researchers in quantum gravity, and students

I have heard many talks where they mention Witten's "standard dictionary" of ADS/CFT. Where the dictionary is, to my understanding, a way to easily go between a CFT and a theory of gravity. What I want to know is where is the paper that has this dictionary?

I have compact edition of OED sitting on top of an ADS loudspeaker. Does this count?

Yes, that's as good as we have at the moment. The full dictionary is still not known.
