You can always start a thread here in classical or general physics. I'm sure you could always search for one on a search engine but you may be looking for a personal recommendation, in which case I'm of no use.

Yeah - there's a place called PhysicsForums, where the members discuss topics in physics, like optics.
 
There are also the usenet groups sci.optics and alt.lasers
