For those seeking a concise and informative book on cryptography, "Applied Cryptography" by Bruce Schneier is highly recommended as a foundational resource. It effectively covers modern encryption algorithms and their vulnerabilities, including issues with MD5. Additionally, "Cryptological Mathematics" by Robert Lewand is noted for its clear explanations of both basic and advanced encryption schemes, making it a valuable read for understanding cryptographic principles.
