SUMMARY

The discussion centers on selecting the best book for problem-solving in Calculus and Real Analysis, with specific mentions of "Calculus" by Piskunov, "Mathematical Analysis" by Berman, and a book by Maron. Piskunov is highlighted as particularly suitable for beginners due to its extensive exercises, although they are not considered challenging. The other two books, Berman and Maron, are less familiar to the participants, indicating a need for further exploration of their content and problem-solving focus.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of calculus concepts
  • Familiarity with problem-solving techniques in mathematics
  • Knowledge of mathematical analysis fundamentals
  • Experience with integration methods
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "Calculus by Piskunov" for its exercise variety and beginner-friendly approach
  • Explore "Mathematical Analysis" by Berman for its problem-solving focus
  • Investigate Maron's book to evaluate its suitability for practical problem-solving
  • Look into supplementary resources for calculus exercises and solutions
USEFUL FOR

Students new to calculus, educators seeking problem-solving resources, and anyone looking to enhance their mathematical analysis skills through practical exercises.

Ok, i need a book for Calculus/Real analysis .I am more interested in problems( theory not SO important) . I know of these books -:

Calc. by Piskunov
Mathematical analysis by Berman
'' by Maron

Any1 having used any of the books above, could suggest which one would be best suited for my needs.
If there is any other good book you know of, please suggest
Thx

If this is your first exposure to calculus, Piskunov has a LOT of exercises. I wouldn't call them challenging by any means, but for a beginner it would be useful. I haven't heard of the other books until now.
