I am puzzled by this post for two reasons. It should be obvious looking at the chart that "A" has a lower fare than "B" for every distance listed in the chart. And, I have no idea where the "6000" and "4000" came from! If the "6000" was intended to mean that "taxi A" is always 6000 cheaper than "taxi B" that's simply not true! For 0 km "taxi A" is 10000- 7000= 3000 cheaper, for 1 km it is 12000- 9500= 2500 cheaper, for 2 km it is 14000- 12000= 2000 cheaper, etc.

Taxi A :(15 km)*44.500

taxi B :(15 km)*40.000
hence taxi B is cheapest//

the answer above is true?. i don't know came from..

have you explained

Hi susanto3311!

Apparently we're comparing the fares for a distance of 15 km.
That means we have to calculate that fare.
For taxi A we see that the fare starts at 7000, and that 2500 is added for every extra kilometer.
What will be the fare for taxi A for 15 km?
And for taxi B?

hi Serena...

thank for your attention...therefore which taxi is cheapest fares..?
i'm still confused!

You already have the answer:

Do you understand why?
My question was to help you understand if you didn't understand yet.

hi Serena..

thanks, would you show me, how to detect easy the answer...
i mean , in short tricks//

We need to calculate the fare for 15 km.
For taxi A we know that we start at 7000.
For 1 km it is 9500, which is 2500 more.
Checking the numbers shows that for every km more, we pay 2500 more.
So for 15 km, we pay $7000 + 15 \times 2500 = 44500$, which is what you already had.

Can we do the same thing for taxi B?

In your first post, you just asked "which fare is cheaper" without mentioning any specific distance. In your second post you calculated that B was cheaper for 15 km, the apparently decided that B was cheaper. Is the question about which taxi is cheaper at 15 km or cheaper over all?
