Whte Stripes are cool, though they hit MTV mainstream with that cool Chandy lego video. Haven't gotten into Interpol, though I'm told they're good... BTW Kerrie, have you heard any of Hope Sandoval's (Mazzy Star chick) new solo stuff?

I like the Eels as long as I don't listen too closely to the lyrics... those can get painful. :( Some funny indie in-joke lyrics by Beulah:

Seriously, this band is out of this world. They have their own sound, but they bear a resemblance to their musical "parents", Hendrix, Cream, Zeppelin.

They have 5 mp3's to download at their website (in my sig). I encourage you to download them, and even join the message board (I am "quantumdude" over there).

I don't think there unheard of anymore, I think they kinda made it big with a few songs they put out recently, but they used to be pretty unknown to all outside the DC area (luckily a friend of mine brought them to boise while they were still unknown so we got to hear them too) but Good Charlotte i think has some really good stuff. Like I said I really don't follow music news or anything but I think that these guys aren't unheard of anymore.
