SUMMARY

Chemical powders are often significantly more expensive than their granular or bead counterparts, with prices sometimes doubling or tripling. This price disparity is attributed to the preservation of substances during transport, as granules or crystals reduce the risk of accidents. For those needing powdered forms, purchasing granular products and grinding them is a cost-effective alternative.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of chemical product forms (powder vs. granular)
  • Knowledge of chemical preservation methods during transport
  • Familiarity with grinding techniques for chemical substances
  • Basic concepts of bulk purchasing and pricing strategies
NEXT STEPS
  • Research chemical preservation methods during transport
  • Learn about grinding techniques for various chemical substances
  • Explore bulk purchasing options for chemical products
  • Investigate the pricing strategies of chemical suppliers
USEFUL FOR

Chemists, laboratory technicians, procurement specialists, and anyone involved in purchasing or experimenting with chemical products.

I needed to do some experiments, so I was about to buy some chemical products.
But it failed because prices were so higher than I expected.
The prices got at least double, even triple.

That's pretty broad question that is essentially intractable without some details about the chemicals you're interested in.

Unless you are thinking of huge quantities, you could always purchase a product in granular form, then grind it to a powder yourself, if powder is necessary.
Suppliers usually ship granules or crystals because they preserve the substance better, and there is less risk from accidents in transport.
