Why does lower mass reduce resonance frequency in serial-kinematic nanopositioning?

Hi. I have a question about serial-kinematic nanopositioning.
Why the resonance frequency of axis which has less mass impose a greater limitation on performance? And what is the meaning of limitation on performance concretely?.

What exactly is your question about this? I assume you are talking about a stage stack where one rides on the other. The lower stage has to typically carry the upper stage plus the payload, so the overall performance is probably limited by the combined load.
