Why does water take longer to heat up than milk?

Homework Statement

water takes more times than milk of same temperature,to be heated to the same higher temperature-- why?

ANS: The specific heat of water is more than that of milk.In fact the specific heat of water is the highest of almost all the substances so for the same rise in temperature water will take more heat consequently more time than that of milk.
