SUMMARY

The recent changes to the forum's LaTeX rendering system, specifically the switch to MathJax 3, have caused significant issues with LaTeX commands not rendering correctly, including problems with the \lim command and capitalization inconsistencies. Users reported that the preview function fails to render LaTeX, complicating the posting process. While some users experienced temporary fixes after refreshing pages, the overall performance remains inconsistent. A rollback to MathJax 2 has been discussed, but the forum administrators are also exploring solutions to maintain the benefits of MathJax 3.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of LaTeX syntax and commands
  • Familiarity with MathJax 2 and MathJax 3 differences
  • Basic knowledge of browser cache management
  • Experience with forum software and user interface issues
NEXT STEPS

  • Learn how to clear browser cache effectively across different browsers
  • Explore LaTeX troubleshooting techniques for forum environments
  • Research performance optimization strategies for MathJax integration
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for forum administrators, web developers, and users who frequently utilize LaTeX in online platforms, particularly those experiencing rendering issues or performance concerns with MathJax.

LaTeX is still entirely missing from selected-and-replied text. Replying to the whole email and editing out what I don't want remains a workaround.
This will likely never have a workaround because the select-to-quote only copies the rendered text. The latex is built from CSS.

The whole page is coming and going. On the list of threads page and viewing threads. The content appears briefly and then vanishes. This has been happening all evening. Firefox (latest version).
Like a flicker? All content or just latex? Or some content and not others?

All the content. It generally stays if I hold the scroll bar.
