SUMMARY

The mathematical identity sin2r = 2sin r requires a cosigner, specifically cos r, to validate its application. This relationship is derived from the double angle formula for sine, which states that sin(2r) = 2sin(r)cos(r). The discussion humorously references the need for a "cosigner" in a financial context, paralleling the mathematical necessity of cos r in the identity.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of trigonometric identities
  • Familiarity with the double angle formulas
  • Basic knowledge of sine and cosine functions
  • Ability to interpret mathematical humor in discussions
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the derivation of the double angle formulas in trigonometry
  • Explore the applications of trigonometric identities in solving equations
  • Learn about the significance of cos r in various trigonometric contexts
  • Investigate mathematical humor and its role in educational discussions
USEFUL FOR

Students of mathematics, educators teaching trigonometry, and anyone interested in the interplay between mathematical concepts and humor.

Why was the identity sin2r = 2sin r refused a loan?

**
He needed a cos r (cosigner).

Because it needs a CosR
Sin2R = 2SinR*CosR

I was quite hyped when I saw the name soroban since in another forum someone asked about his well-being. I was going to tell him when I noticed that soroban's post was made in 2012.
