SUMMARY

A ball thrown in a vacuum will continue to move indefinitely unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force, as stated by Newton's first law of motion. In the absence of gravity and air resistance, the ball maintains its state of uniform motion. This principle confirms that in a vacuum, the lack of opposing forces allows for perpetual motion of the ball.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Newton's laws of motion
  • Basic knowledge of physics concepts such as force and motion
  • Familiarity with the concept of a vacuum and its properties
  • Comprehension of external forces and their effects on motion
NEXT STEPS
  • Study Newton's laws of motion in detail
  • Explore the concept of inertia and its implications in physics
  • Research the effects of different forces in various environments, such as vacuum vs. atmosphere
  • Investigate real-world applications of motion in a vacuum, such as in space travel
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, educators teaching motion concepts, and anyone interested in the principles of motion in a vacuum.

if I throw ball in vacuum and there is no gravity ,is the ball will be moving for ever or will move for just a time and stop?
And thanks.

What does Newton's first law have to say about it?

A body continues to be in its state of rest or of uniform motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
