SUMMARY

Students transferring from community colleges to four-year institutions need not worry about past misdemeanors that have been expunged. Forum participants confirmed that an expunged record does not impact college admissions. The consensus is that state colleges focus primarily on academic performance and current qualifications rather than past legal issues.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of college admissions processes
  • Familiarity with expungement laws
  • Knowledge of community college transfer protocols
  • Awareness of state college requirements
NEXT STEPS
  • Research state college admissions criteria
  • Learn about the expungement process in your state
  • Explore community college transfer agreements
  • Investigate academic performance improvement strategies
USEFUL FOR

Students planning to transfer from community colleges to four-year colleges, academic advisors, and individuals seeking clarity on the impact of expunged records on college admissions.

I'm currently at a community college planning on transferring to a 4 year college next fall. The issue is a couple of years ago I got arrested for a misdemeanor (that I wasn't convicted for) and is now expunged. My question is can I still get into a state college to get my bachelors or am I screwed now?
