My professor asked us to use the heat equation to compare temperature change with the specific heat of three metals. I have no idea of what the heat equation is. I read a little bit about it on Wikipedia, but the equation there makes no sense to me. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me out with this. Thanks!
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

2. Relevant equations

3. The attempt at a solution

I'm guessing he/she means the equation that relates temperature change to specific heat capacity, mass and quantity of heat.
Q=mct
Q is amount of heat transferred (J)
c is specific heat capacity of the material
m is mass of material
t is temperature change (K or Celsius)
Does that help?
