Graduate Understanding Nuclei Interactions: Strength of Strong and Weak Forces on Protons
Both the strong and weak interactions are short range forces of approximately 1 fm. Two protons are separated by this distance. Which equation should i use for these two question? i) The strength of the electrical and gravitational interactions that influence each of these protons. ii)...- Flavia

Undergrad How Long Does It Take for 80% of Carbon-14 to Decay in a Dead Animal?
Im having trouble answering this question. How long it takes for 80% of the carbon-14 to decay in an animal after it has died. Carbon decays rate 0.012% per year. So, my understanding is, -(R = 0.00012 yr-1, t=1 yr) R=Ro exp (-λt) 0.00012=Ro exp(-λ(1)) ---- (1) -No = 0.8...- Flavia

Graduate Meson vs. Baryon: Quark Interactions and Fermions/Bosons
Mesons are bosons, while the baryons are fermions. My question is, meson is a type of hadron that made from the interaction of quark with gluon. Quark is fermion, not boson. so why mesons are boson?- Flavia

Graduate What Are Fermions and Bosons in the Meson Quark Model?
1) What is mean by fermion with half integer spin and boson with integer spin Is that fermion, 1/2,3/2... boson, 1,2,3 2) Why meson don't have q = +1, S = -1 or q = -1, S = +1 in term of quark model- Flavia
