What is the Electric Field at Point P Due to a Uniformly Charged Rod?
I went back to class today and I figured it out thanks a lot. I just integrated it wrong, I had to do some trig subsitutions. (that is where the extra R came from)- glennpagano44

What is the Electric Field at Point P Due to a Uniformly Charged Rod?
Homework Statement Halliday and Resnick edition 7 chapter 22 number 29 In Fig 22-45, positive charge q = 7.81 pC is spread uniformly along a thin nonconducting rod of length L = .145m. The y distance between the point and rod is R = .06m. What is the magnitude and direction of the...- glennpagano44

Whats Possible with a B.S in physics?
Yea geophysics is what I have been looking at a lot lately, I just can't find any good schools close to home (pennsylvania) with geophysics (didnt get accepted to psu main). I am thinking about going to millersville for my undergrad physics degree. "Except for some chemical engineers i think...- glennpagano44

Whats Possible with a B.S in physics?
I am a HS student looking to major in Physics in college. After reading some posts I am wondering what kind of jobs there are with a B.S physics. Could I work in the oil drilling or nuclear field? I am also thinking of maybe majoring in Geology, what do you think a bout a geology major?- glennpagano44

Solving Explosion Problem: Calculate Kinetic Energy of Horizontal Piece
This is a good problem. Does the mass break apart equaly because I keep getting half of the KE (187500J) I am doing .5(50/3)(150)^2. Anyone have any input- glennpagano44

Kinetic Energy - Force done by friction
Not 100% sure but did this class today For b) you have to do conservation of energy .5mv^2+mgh+(work done by friction)= 0. From there you should have enough informationto solve for (work done by friction).- glennpagano44

How Is the Average Force Calculated When a Pile Driver Hits a Beam?
You use the cos of 0 and 180 because that is the angle between the Force and displacment. This is the definition of Work. W=Fdcos(angle). This would make the work either negative or positive. If one moves an object against a force(gravity) then there would be a negative Wnet. If one moves...- glennpagano44

How Do You Apply Calculus to Determine Force in Physics?
Right now I am in AP physics in High School, while also taking calculus and I need some assitance on when and how to apply the calculus (once I know to do calculus I can go from there) Example If Potential Energy is 5x^2+3x+7 what function is the force. - I know you have to take...- glennpagano44
