Electromechanical vs. Mechanical Engineering
Hey all. So I'm at a point in my life where I have to make some serious decisions about what I want to do. Here's a quick sum up: Graduated from high school with mediocre grades, 72% average. Bad home situation. Graduated from university with a 3 year B.Sc Biology degree in 2005 with a B...- greenneub

Programs Rank undergrad physics degrees by job potential
I'm planning to major in physics at my university. However, this will be a second degree. My first was a 3 year biology degree 7 years ago. I'm interested in the job prospects of the various physics degrees and since my university is a small undergraduate school, they offer multiple...- greenneub

Courses Math courses to prepare for undergrad physics for older student
This, this, and more of this. I'm pretty much in the same boat excelsior. If you're thinking of doing a physics undergrad, try to master each of the things micromass said above. It can be hugely intimidating going back to school, especially in something that you need a refresher on, but it...- greenneub

Then again, I suppose the program does get pretty heavy in years 3 and 4. 6 courses in the first semester of year 3 and then 7 for the rest of the program. Good God that's a lot of school.- greenneub

Programs Mechanical Technology/Mech Engineering Degree
If someone could take a quick look at this program, I'd appreciate it. I found out today that one of my other options is no longer available, so the above program is now a stronger possibility. My main concern with the Lakehead program is that the B. Eng is a weaker engineering program because...- greenneub

Programs Mechanical Technology/Mech Engineering Degree
This is one of the only programs offered in Canada that's structured this way. The first two years are towards a Mechanical Technology diploma, the last two are for a B.ENG in Mech. Engineering. I'm curious what you guys think of this program in terms of A) a standalone Technology Diploma and...- greenneub

Homework Statement I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Homework Equations f(t) = t/(t+1)2 find f(1/t) The Attempt at a Solution f(1/t) = 1/(t/(t+1)2) = ((t+1)2)/t = (t2 + 2t +1)/t The answer in my book says it's t/(t+1)2...- greenneub

Why does shifting a function to the right require a smaller input variable?
Homework Statement Could someone please explain, in very simple words, the horizontal shift of a graph? I've used the search button, textbooks, and google and I'm just not comprehending this. Why does the graph f(x-1) shift f(x) 1 unit to the right and not left? Homework Equations...- greenneub
