Undergrad Temperature of a body exposed to sunlight
I mean that the solar energy received in one m2 in 1hour is 1 ° KW (metric units for solar energy radiatio, see http://www.raws.dri.edu/cgi-bin/rawMAIN.pl?nmXHAC , equivalent to the Langley, ºly). What I'd like to know what is the relation between the painting absorbion, aluminum heat capacity...- jc.int

Undergrad Temperature of a body exposed to sunlight
hello, If I have a black painted aluminium exposed to sunlight (being it and the atmosfere at 27ºC), and I have the total solar radiation it is exposed to (lets say 1 ° KW-hr/m²), how can I know the evolution of its temperature? (if there is any free simulator on the internet I would be glad...- jc.int

Can Urine Be Distilled to Extract Potable Water?
Hello, I'd like to know if it is possible to distillate urine so we can extract potable water from it. I know that some of its components, like ammonia, can be found of the resulting liquid but couln't we just heat urine at a certain temperature so it is just the water that is distillated...- jc.int

High School How Much Energy is Spent Holding 1kg for an Hour?
I agree with you but when a helicopter holds a weight it is using energy to compense the gravity force, isn't it?- jc.int

High School How Much Energy is Spent Holding 1kg for an Hour?
hello, If I hold 1kilogram at one meter of the groud during an hour, what would be the theoretical energy I am spending (in joules for example)? Thank you, Jaimie- jc.int

Undergrad Equation measuring heat with temperature change, time and specific heat
I still have another (and I hope this time it is the last one) question: Is there any simple way to get h (heat transfer coefficient)? I've seen that it is quite complicated: http://goo.gl/Ol6Qj- jc.int

Undergrad Equation measuring heat with temperature change, time and specific heat
thank you very much for you answer :D I'm afraid I still have a doubt: what does T∞ and T represent? (sorry but I'm still at high school)- jc.int

Undergrad Equation measuring heat with temperature change, time and specific heat
well, I mean that if a put a 10ºC/50ºF substance outdoors where the temperature is about 30ºC/86ºF, how can I find the temperature of the substance 10 minutes after, knowing the substance specific heat & heat capacity. thanks Jaimie- jc.int

Undergrad Equation measuring heat with temperature change, time and specific heat
hello, If I had a substance (k) and heated it from Temperature1 to Temperature2, for z seconds, is there any (simple) equation that would give me the temperature (x) of this substance at the end? (knowing, of course, the substance's specific heat(C)) I found that: Q(energy exchanged during...- jc.int

Day/night temperature difference indesert
hello, I'd like to know if someone here knows what is the day/night temperature diference in the desert and in other places where this diference is big. The only I find in the internet in max/min temperature or summer/winter. Thank you, Jaimie- jc.int

High School Heat Capacity Database: Find Common Substances Data
hello, I'd like to know if there is any heat capacity database of some common substances. I've searched the internet for a while and I haven't found anything so it would be really kind if someone could provide me this data or link/refernce to it, because now I really need it for a project...- jc.int

A metal that heats ''quickly'' and maintains temperature
hello, I've got an idea for a project but I'd need to know if there's some kind of metal (it would be great if it was a common/affordable one, not very rare/expensive) that heats rather quickly with sunlighth (like iron) but when it gets at a temperature (say, 100ºC) doesn't continue heating...- jc.int
