How to Determine the pH of a Buffer Made with K2HPO4 and KH2PO4?
So my teacher said that the KH2PO4 would be considered the acid, and that the K2HPO4 would form a strong conjugate base. I converted from grams to mols, and then to molarity. Using the given Ka value of 6.2 x 10^-8, I just plugged everything into the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation and got a pH...- kk727

How to Determine the pH of a Buffer Made with K2HPO4 and KH2PO4?
Homework Statement Calculate the pH of a buffer made with 10.0 g of K2HPO4 and 5.0 g of KH2PO4 in 1.0L of water. Homework Equations -log Ka + log (base/acid) = pH The Attempt at a Solution So...mathwise, I know how to do this problem. My only question is, aren't K2HPO4 and KH2PO4...- kk727

Solving Force vs Time Graphs: Velocity Example #37
I just realized that the worksheet has two problems that are #37... -_- So I'm doubting that -1 m/s is the answer to this one. I'm still confused with trying to solve it, though!- kk727

Solving Force vs Time Graphs: Velocity Example #37
Homework Statement I was given this worksheet today: http://www.mrwaynesclass.com/impulse/WS/momentum.pdf However, I was not in school today nor when we started momentum. So I'm a little confused with the graphs. On a force versus time graph, how do you go about solving for velocity? An...- kk727

What classes should I take to prepare for a major in Astrophysics?
I'm amazed that you're so motivated and have such opportunities! I'm a senior in high school now and not a single person I know is doing anything similar to what you're doing. How did you go about finding such programs? I'm amazed!- kk727

Scholars Programs/Different Opportunities?
Yeah, I talked to some of my teachers and they said it would be a waste, too. They said that having dual degrees won't really make a difference. I'm kind of leaning towards the 5 year Master's program...it just seems so much more reasonable than trying to do it all in only 4 years.- kk727

Scholars Programs/Different Opportunities?
As an incoming college freshman in the Fall of 2011, I've been given various options and various paths to take. I'll be attending Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. My first option is a Scholars Program, which offers me two unique choices: a 4-year Masters/Bachelors Program, and...- kk727

What Is the Tension in the String Holding the Rotational System in Equilibrium?
Thank you so much! That's exactly what I needed. Sometimes seeing the solution is enough to help me figure something out, but this wasn't the case. I think I understand what you're saying. I forgot that you would use the center of mass - for some reason I was looking at the length. That's why...- kk727
