Two-Phase Pressure Drop (I need an expert)
Hello everyone, I have been trying to find a relatively accurate pressure drop correlation for horizontal flow of air-oil mixture. I have been testing 7 correlation in my test points however I am still hesitated to select the appropriate one based on the results. System Props: * D_pipe: 17.63...- mastermechanic

Engineering Book on Aircraft Engine Lubrication/Oil System Design
Hi everyone, I need a textbook which either fully or partially focused on the lubrication and oil system design of gas turbines/aircraft engines. There are several books I have looked over but they simply introduces the main flow in the system and its components. I need something which...- mastermechanic

Electronics How to control a stepper motor in closed loop (PID) in arduino?
Think about a robotic arm, I sent the arm to a specific position and it went, so far there is no problem. But if I force the arm to move or intervene the arm while it is moving it will miss some steps. The controller must know it is missed and it should compansate it by sending the necessary...- mastermechanic

Electronics How to control a stepper motor in closed loop (PID) in arduino?
Hello, What I have I have a NEMA17 stepper motor driven by a DRV8825 driver module, an arduino uno, a multiturn potentiometer. What I want to do I want to control the stepper motors in a PID closed loop. The motor shaft will be connected to the potentiometer and I will be sure that the motor...- mastermechanic

Undergrad Vertical acceleration of the water bubbles in a kettle?
Question is simple, as we all know water boils at the bottom surface and it forms tiny bubbles. These bubbles grow up and rise in the water until they detach. What is the acceleration of these bubbles compared to gravitational acceleration? - Is it constant velocity? - Is it approximately...- mastermechanic

Measuring the total pressure of a centrifugal compressor
Hello everyone, Nowadays I am planning to redesign my centrifugal compressor which I designed for a subsystem in my graduation project. It's a 3D printed and brushless motor driven centrifugal compressor and its about a hand size. However, due to its relatively small size and relatively low RPM...- mastermechanic

How to implement PID control in Arduino w/o using loop function?
Thank you @Baluncore for your detailed response, what you're suggesting is I think, the same with what @DaveE suggested. I don't know about multitasking but I will study based on your suggestions. Thank you again!- mastermechanic

How to implement PID control in Arduino w/o using loop function?
Sorry for late reply, I am already graduated and I have done it in a simpler manner by using IR distance sensor, when the measured distance equals the target distance motor stops. So, I didn't use PID controller. Here is the robot if you wish to see, I am not much happy with the result...- mastermechanic

How to implement PID control in Arduino w/o using loop function?
Last week I encountered a problem in my graduate project. The project was about designing an autonomous and mobile robot that picks up 9 glass tiles from a stack point and place them into a 3x3 matrix with minimum tolerance. I am using a DC motor with an infinite turn potentiometer for closed...- mastermechanic

Rigid body kinetics -- force on ankle joint
You're right I just wrote it fast, the angular momentum is zero before the impact and is the expression I wrote above after the impact. So I found $$ \omega = 1.202 rad/s $$ I found a way but I appreciate if you confirm it's validity, V of the ankle joint, $$ V = \omega.r $$ $$V = 1.202 *...- mastermechanic

Rigid body kinetics -- force on ankle joint
PROBLEM Here from the conservation of angular momentum I found angular velocity just before impact, $$ H_1 = 0 $$ $$ H_2 = I_0\omega + mV_0d $$ $$ H_2 = 66\omega + 76.(1.2).(0.87)$$ $$ H_1 = H_2 $$ $$ \omega = 1.202 rad/s $$ But I couldn't solve it to find joint force. Thanks in advance,- mastermechanic

Undefined log-mean temperature in heat exchanger design
For a course project, I need to design a heat exchanger to cool electronic components in an UAV. The heat exchanger will be cross-flow air to liquid. The cold side (air side) properties are evaluated at an altitude of 7620 m and -34.5 °C. For the hot side ethylene glycol - water solution with a...- mastermechanic
